Pelion Animal Welfare Society is a charity dedicated to helping the stray animals of Pelion in the Thessaly region of mainland Greece. As this beleaguered country crumbles around us, we see and hear of much human drama in the news. Unfortunately the catastrophe of economic collapse also extends to animals, pets and strays alike. We do our best under difficult conditions and we hope that you will be moved to support our cause

We are simply people who live in Pelion and care about animals. All our work is 100% voluntary. We do it because we are unable to turn a blind eye to the plight of stray animals here.

We have created four core programmes to better animal welfare in Pelion. These are: Rescue and Adoption, Neutering, Feeding and Education. If these programmes receive enough support and work to be fully developed according to our goals and objectives, we believe that they will make a huge difference in the lives of many hapless animals in our area.
